NIFF 2025 Announces First Round of Finalists

The NanoCon International Film Festival (NIFF) is proud to announce the first 100 finalists for its 7th season, taking place September 26 – October 4, 2025 in Longview, Washington.

This year, NIFF received an extraordinary 2,964 short film submissions representing 194 countries. From this incredible pool of global talent, our programming team has selected the first group of films that will move forward as finalists. These 100 short films represent a wide range of genres, styles, and cultural voices, showcasing the creativity and innovation of independent filmmakers around the world.

“We are continually amazed by the scope of international stories brought to NIFF,” said the festival team. “Announcing our first 100 finalists highlights the strength of independent film and gives audiences a preview of the remarkable works they’ll see at this year’s festival.”

The announcement of these 100 films marks the beginning of our finalist rollout. Additional groups of finalists will be revealed in the coming weeks as we move toward the festival.

NIFF 2025 will feature screenings, panels, and special events at venues across the Longview area, including the Columbia Theatre, Stageworks Northwest, the Longview Public Library, and Lower Columbia College’s Wallenberg Auditorium.
